Rachel Lance

Rachel Lance is a biomedical engineer and writer, focusing on the physiological effects of submarine pressure on people. She is an Assistant Consulting Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University.[1] She is the author of two books on the subject. Dr. Lance earned her BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan[2] and her Ph.D. at Duke in 2016.[1] She is the author of two books, In the Waves: My Quest to Solve the Mystery of a Civil War Submarine and Chamber Divers: The Untold Story of the D-Day Scientists Who Changed Special Operations Forever.
