Lithodendron: Science and History Journal of Petrified Forest National Park is peer-reviewed fully open access scientific journal focused on the archeology, biology, geology, history, and paleontology of the Petrified Forest National Park and Four Corners areas. The journal was founded in 2023, with its first volume published the following year.[1]
The name "Lithodendron" means "stone tree", after the Ancient Greek words "λίθος" (líthos="stone") and "δένδρον" (déndron="tree"), in reference to the petrified logs commonly found in the area.[2]
