SV Grün-Weiss Brieselang[1] is a sports club from Brieselang in the district of Havelland. The football department rose to the NOFV-Oberliga[2] in the 2016/17 season and stayed in this league for two seasons.

History[edit]

The club was founded in October 1950 as SG Brieselang. In October 1952, a sponsoring company was assigned to the association and it was now called BSG Chemie Brieselang. In GDR times, the club played in 1952/53 and from 1960 to 1966/67 in the third-class football district league Potsdam.

On the 22nd In July 1997, the club renamed itself SV Grün-Weiss Brieselang. In 2012, the promotion to the state class was successful, which was already won in the first season, so that Brieselang was promoted to the state league in 2013. After two years, the club managed to be promoted to the sixth-class Brandenburg League. After Brieselang was the table leader of the Brandenburg League in the 2015/16 season from the fifth matchday, the club finally won the league with an eleven-point lead over Breesener SV Guben-Nord and rose to the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost (season North).

After two seasons in the Oberliga, the relegation to the Brandenburg-Liga followed at the end of the 2017/18 season and a year later the relegation to the Landesliga Nord.

The women's department of SV Grün-Weiss Brieselang won the AOK State Cup in 2023 by a 1-0 success after extra time over the BSG Stahl Brandenburg and thus qualified for the DFB Cup 2023/24[3].
