Vittoria Paganetti (born 17 June 2006) is an Italian professional tennis player. She has a career high ITF junior combined ranking of No. 30, achieved on 29 April 2024.
Early life and background[edit]
Paganetti was born and raised in Bari.[1] She began playing tennis at the age of five,[2] and currently trains at the Circolo Tennis Bari.[3][4]
Junior career[edit]
Paganetti made her junior Grand Slam debut at the 2024 Australian Open. In singles, she reached the second round. In doubles, she and partner Francesca Gandolfi were knocked out in the first round.[5][6] At the ITF J300 Villena, she reached the semifinals in singles and won the doubles title with Gandolfi.[7][8] She was also accepted of the main draw of the French Open in both singles and doubles.[9]
Professional career[edit]
Paganetti made her WTA 125 debut with a wildcard into the 2022 Open delle Puglie, but lost in the first round to Laura Pigossi.[10] She also received a wildcard into the 2023 Open delle Puglie, but, again, but lost in the first round.[11] At the 2023 Archigen Cup in Solarino, she and partner Gaia Maduzzi were runners-up in doubles, losing to Linda Klimovičová and Julie Štruplová in the final.[12][13]
After passing the pre-qualifying tournament,[14] Paganetti made her WTA debut with a wildcard into the main draw of the 2024 Italian Open,[15][16] but lost in the first round to compatriot Lucrezia Stefanini.[17] She was only the fourth player from Apulia to make the main draw in Rome.[18]
