RDA (company)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RDA Microelectronics Ltd. is a Chinese electronic manufacturer. It is part of the state owned and controlled Tsinghua Holdings.[1] RDA integrated circuits are widely used in China produced Software Defined Radios, like the most distributed Baofeng UV-5R.

Products[edit]

Baofeng UV-R5 is based on RDA1846

RDA produces integrated circuits for RF-applications. These include ICs for GSM and mobile communications applications, as well as FM broadcast receivers. The Chinese handheld software defined radios from Retevis, Anytone, Wouxun, Baofeng and other Chinese brands, which have been widely distributed worldwide since around 2010, use RDA's Singe-IC technology. The most widely used walkie talkie in the world, the UV-5R is based on the RDA1846.

RDA1846 - Walkie Talkie in one circuit[edit]

Since 2009 RDA is producing the RDA1846, a highly integrated single-chip transceiver for Walkie Talkie applications. It totally realizes the translation from RF carrier to voice in the RX path and from voice to RF carrier in the TX path, requiring only one micro controller. The transceiver uses the CMOS with and requires the least external components - a more complex design of sensitive RF circuits on PCB is not necessary.

The RDA1846 hasn an digital signal processor integrated, which can used for flexible function options and made an robust performance under varying reception conditions.[2] The RDA1846 frequency ranges from 400 MHz to 500 MHz and from 134 MHz to 174 MHz.
