Swapan Majumder
Swapan Majumdar is a notorious drug trafficker. In 2017, he was arrested by the police of the BJP-led government in Assam in a drug smuggling case. He remained in custody for a long time. After being released from jail, in May 2021, he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Bongaon South constituency. He defeated All India Trinamool Congress's Alo Rani Sarkar by 2,004 votes in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Now, he is a candidate from the Barasat Lok Sabha constituency.
