The 2025 FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup is the planned inaugural edition of the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup, an international futsal competition organized by FIFA. The inaugural edition is to be hosted in the Philippines in 2025.[1][2][3]

Host selection[edit]

After the announcement of the World Cup in December 2022, Finland hinted that they could bid.[4] But on the 15 May 2024, Philippines was given the hosting rights.[1][2][5]

The Philippines indoor arenas and successful organization of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup were deemed as the reason for their selection.[6]

This will be the first time the Philippines hosts a FIFA event[6], the second FIFA women's tournament in Southeast Asia since the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship in Thailand, and the second futsal World Cup in the region after the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Format[edit]

The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout phase, comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals, a third-place play-off, and the final match.[2]

Qualification[edit]

Alongside the host Philippines,[7] the inaugural 2025 Futsal Women's World Cup will feature 3 teams from Asia (AFC), 2 each from Africa (CAF) and North/Central America (CONCACAF), 3 from South America (CONMEBOL), 1 from Oceania (OFC), and 4 qualifiers from Europe (UEFA).[8]
